Strolio is an AI walking companion for self-guided city walks. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when using the Strolio mobile app and related services.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide or generate while using Strolio:

• Walk requests and app content, such as route prompts, selected starting locations, questions, feedback, route preferences, and messages you send to Strolio.
• Location information, when you grant permission, to suggest starting points, plan walks, keep your route centered, update route progress, find nearby stops, and provide location-based stories.
• Voice input, when you choose to dictate a question. Speech may be converted to text by your device or platform speech services before it is used by Strolio.
• Photos or camera input, only when you choose to attach a photo, use the camera, or scan a Strolio QR code.
• Notification identifiers, if you enable push notifications, so we can send route-ready and walk-related notifications.
• Device and app information, such as app version, device type, language, operating system, and basic technical logs needed to run and improve the service.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

• generate, update, and personalize walking routes;
• provide AI answers, stories, audio, and nearby recommendations;
• show maps, route progress, and relevant places around you;
• send notifications you request or enable;
• maintain, secure, debug, and improve Strolio;
• respond to support requests and feedback.

Location Data

Strolio uses location only when you grant location permission. During an active walk, Strolio may use location in the background to keep route progress, audio, and nearby stop suggestions working while the app is not on screen. You can disable location access at any time in your device settings.

AI Processing

Strolio may send route requests, questions, selected location context, and attached content to our servers and AI service providers to generate routes, stories, and answers. Please do not submit sensitive personal information that is not needed for your walk.

Third-Party Services

We use third-party services to operate Strolio. These may include cloud hosting providers, AI service providers, map providers such as Google Maps, push notification providers such as OneSignal, and app platform services from Apple and Google. These providers process information only as needed to provide their services to us, subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us operate Strolio, when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Retention

We keep information only for as long as needed to provide Strolio, improve the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Some data may be stored locally on your device and can be removed by deleting the app or clearing app data.

Your Choices

• You can disable location, microphone, camera, photo, and notification permissions in your device settings.
• You can choose not to attach photos or use voice input.
• You can contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or export of personal information we hold about you.

Children

Strolio is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

International Use

Strolio may process information in countries other than where you live. When we transfer information internationally, we take steps designed to protect it according to this Privacy Policy and applicable law.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and provide notice where required.
